I saw Pearl Jam!

To top off a fantastic weekend, I went to another concert last night. But not just any concert. FREAKING PEARL JAM!! And I'll be honest, I could follow them on tour. They were that good!!!

And I have to apologize to my husband because last night I may have screamed things like, "I love you, Eddie" and "Eddie, will you marry me?" But I didn't mean it. Total concert-induced hysteria. I mean, really. Who would want to marry Eddie Vedder? (raises hand) :-)

Well, a few of the high points were when they played Black, Daughter, or when Eddie sat down with just the guitar. I honestly swooned. Along with the rest of the crowd. To finish it off, they sang my favorite: Yellow Ledbetter. Oh, man. What a moment.
Here are some pics!
Walking from the car to the ampitheatre was like a mile. But we were too stoked to care

I was never so happy to have a hot dog. Really.

Cupholders? How freaking awesome is that?

Their background was typewriter that had Pearl Jam lit up. Because Eddie loves writers!!

Encore!

That is awesome! I've never seen Pearl Jam live. And Eddie Vedder has such an amazing voice. My favorite Pearl Jam song is Spin the Black Circle. It's so frantic!
Two kick butt concerts within days?? I'm so jealous!!

Lucky you! Wow! I've never seen them, but my husband totally accepts my crush on Eddie and tells me he's prepared to step down if Eddie steps up. :p I don't know, I guess he thinks it's a long shot? Ha!

Your blog popped up on my google alerts. I'm a fellow PJ fan from TN anxiously awaiting the 4 shows in Philly!

So, so jealous! And I'm kind of jealous of that fab typewriter backdrop. If I were a mega-world-famous rock star, that would totally be my backdrop...

Incredibly cool. We have to get Eddie to write a book...YA of course.

Great idea, Anne! I'll email him. I'm thinking of naming my next YA: I'm Dating Eddie Vedder

Ha ha ha!!! Thank's for a wonderful laugh. Without knowing who Pearl Jam was, I heard the Pearl Jam version of "Last Kiss" in 1998. Apparently this song is their top Billboard hit to date. The song was originally done in the 1960s by J. Frank Wilson and The Cavaliers, so naturally, my ears perked up, when I heard Pearl Jam singing the song on our radio at work. (Yes, I am a crusty, dusty Sixties dinosaur.)

:-) I had to restrain myself to keep from laughing myself silly, for I thought their version of the song sounded like a drunk guy singing in a bar. I couldn't help thinking, if people like the Pearl Jam version of the song, they should listen to the original! Okay, I didn't realize Eddie Vedder has a unique voice and vocal style. I've heard one or two Pearl Jam songs since. So far I've heard nothing from them which suits my taste, but I DO love the laugh they gave me in 1998. I needed a good laugh at the time, for I was working 47 to 54 hours a week.

I'm glad to finally meet, even if vicariously, some of Pearl Jam's many fans. You have put a smile on my face. As the old TV show used to say, "Different Strokes, for different folks." ;-)
