Coming May 25: ENDLESS SUMMER by Jennifer Echols
The Boys Next Door and the sequel, Endless Summer, in one volume!
Two irresistible boys. One unforgettable summer.
Lori can't wait for her summer at the lake. She loves wakeboarding and hanging with her friends--including the two hotties next door. With the Vader brothers, she's always been just one of the guys. Now that she's turning sixteen, she wants to be seen as one of the girls, especially in the eyes of Sean, the older brother. But that's not going to happen--not if the younger brother, Adam, can help it.
Lori plans to make Sean jealous by spending time with Adam. Adam has plans of his own for Lori. As the air heats up, so does this love triangle. Will Lori's romantic summer melt into one hot mess?

Always interested in creative writing, she finished her first (and still unpublished) novel soon after graduating with a degree in English from Auburn University at age 20. She worked as an editor for newspapers, a writer for business publications, and a writing instructor for three major universities, completed a master's degree in English, and finished the coursework for a PhD in genre studies before selling a book. Since then, she has written many young adult novels for Simon & Schuster, including Major Crush, which won the National Reader's Choice Award, and Going Too Far, which is a finalist in the 2010 RITA, the National Reader's Choice Award, and the Book Buyer's Best. Her next novel, Forget You, will be released on July 20. Currently she works as a copyeditor and lives in Birmingham with her husband and son. Please visit her online at jennifer-echols.com.
And I got a chance to interview Jennifer too!
Okay, first question. If this were high school, which senior superlative in the yearbook would you score?
I was actually two senior superlatives with the same boy. In the “Most Academic” photo, he’s throwing a paper airplane while I’m reading a copy of Seventeen behind my English textbook. In the “Most Likely to Succeed” photo, we’re playing Monopoly. He has a PhD in engineering, so I guess we both did okay. And yes, he was a good friend and absolutely adorable.
What is one thing you wish you would have done when you were younger? For me, it’s that I never studied abroad. How about you?
I wish I’d learned to surf—I grew up on the lake instead of the ocean—but I am still going to get to this soon.
Now here’s the self-promotion part: Can you please tell us all about your book? We have some book shopping to do!
Endless Summer is about a tomboy who decides to go girly to catch her childhood crush. But the harder she tries, the more her crush’s younger brother tries to stop her. And soon she suspects she’s gone after the wrong boy! It’s all played out during a long, hot summer on the lake like the one where I grew up, and I promise you will close the book laughing.
So, say your book just got picked up for a movie (congratulations!) Who’s playing your MC?
I thought Ashley Tisdale was perfect, but a reader tells me she’s gotten too old! Stop aging, Ashley Tisdale!
If you could take one literary character to prom, who would it be, and why?
I just finished a wonderful YA romantic suspense, The Body Finder by Kimberly Derting, and I would just die if Jay asked me to prom…but then I would be just like one of those other girls in the book who is after him!
And finally, since all of the other questions were so serious… What do you hope teens take away from your book?
The main character, Lori, is a fun-loving optimist. I tell people she’s the character I’ve written who’s the most like me, but the truth is that I try to be more like her and have a sunny outlook on life. Everything is better when you make an effort to be happy.
Thanks so much for stopping by! And everyone, pick up your copy of Endless Summer today!!

Awesome interview!
I liked the one questions about what you're senior superlative would be. The poses, I bet, look awesome in the year book!
Love, Hannah
Great interview!
Y'all are so sweet. And Suzanne, thank you so much for hosting me on your blog. :)
This book's on my wishlist.
And it's riding higher up!
Can't stop laughing! An author whose name is a Hollies song. Funnier still is the Endless Summer book title, which is the title of a surfing movie/documentary by Bruce Brown, who was the first Black anchor on any network, even if it was only one night a week, late at night.
I have been catapulted back to the Sixties by a 2010 Young Adult fiction author. The only thing better might have been if she was from Eerie, Indiana. Sigh, can't have everything.
I will try to return to give this a serious read in the future. Right now, it seems fictionally funny. Thanks you two for making my morning, Groovy!
I had no idea there were lakes in Alabama...
(Sheesh, sometimes I really remind myself of Brittany on "Glee.")
