Today on Life After Writing....

This week I was enjoying my non-writing status (although I was still secretly writing) by hanging out with friends and going to the movies. Last night me and my friend Dawn went to see EASY A. I mean, it screams young adult novel so I had to see it.

I was happy when Judy Blume, Twilight and John Hughes' movies were mentioned, my inner writing geek smiling. And when I got home, I totally put Sixteen Candles, Say Anything and The Breakfast Club on my Netflix lineup.

Before the movie, Dawn and I stopped off for some refreshments:

Then we hit the theater. I laughed a few times and Dawn almost got sick off a package of red vines (sorry Dawn). But in the end, I took away one thing from EASY A...

I never thought Penn Badgley was cute until I saw him shirtless and painted blue. Just sayin'.

Did you see EASY A? What did you think??

I LOVED Easy A. I wish I were a teenager again and Olive was my best friend. She's awesome.
And I've thought Penn Badgely was cute ever since I saw him in a show on the WB way back when called like, Do-Over or something like that. :D

I really loved Easy A. Emma Stone is awesome. I think the whole pocket full of sunshine scene was one of my favourites haha. The parents were hilarious too. Overall, it was a well written teen drama with as you mentioned, awesome references. :D

I may just have to force myself to go see it;-) Julia Camron says I need an Artist Date once a week to 'fill the well'. This sounds like it fits the bill!
